KAIST develops SafeQL to more easily fix AI database query errors

Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have developed a way to fix errors that occur when AI converts natural-language questions into SQL database queries without rebuilding the whole command. The technology, called SafeQL, identifies and corrects only the wrong parts using database error information and stored data. It was implemented inside PostgreSQL and tested on Bird and Spider benchmarks, reducing token use and repair time while improving execution accuracy.

Databricks annualised revenue tops $7 billion

Databricks said on Thursday its annualised revenue had exceeded $7 billion. The company said it grew by more than 80 percent in the second quarter from a year earlier and completed a $5 billion strategic investment round that valued it at $190 billion. Databricks said it will use the funds to accelerate innovation in core AI products including Lakebase, Genie and Unity AI Gateway. Coatue led the round, with Blackstone, MGX and T. Rowe Price Associates participating.

Korea Information Engineering partners with N-tels to supply Tarzan DB

Korea Information Engineering said on Aug. 3 it will work with N-tels to supply the Tarzan DB database in South Korea and provide technical support. The company said Tarzan DB is a PostgreSQL-based DBMS offering high availability, large-scale transaction processing and disaster recovery functions for enterprise environments. It said it will also provide database construction, performance optimisation and technical support services, and expand its customer base.
