Korea Information Engineering, an IT infrastructure specialist, said on Aug. 3 it will work with N-tels to supply the “Tarzan DB” in South Korea and provide technical support.
According to the company, N-tels’ Tarzan DB is a database management system (DBMS) solution based on the open-source database PostgreSQL. It provides high availability, large-scale transaction processing and disaster recovery functions required in enterprise environments.
Korea Information Engineering said it will support system operations by providing database construction, performance optimisation and technical support services, based on its experience in building various IT infrastructure. It plans to expand its customer base from existing financial firms and public institutions to regional financial firms, manufacturers and others.
Korea Information Engineering stressed that it has expanded its generative AI business around its own solutions ('HaroChat, HARO.Chat' and 'HARO.pipeX'). It added that the Tarzan DB partnership will strengthen its data-layer portfolio as well.
Korea Information Engineering CEO Yong-seok Yoo (유용석) said, "AI infrastructure requires not only servers but also a stable data management platform, so this agreement completes the 'last puzzle' for our AI business." He added, "We will provide integrated solutions to customers and move toward becoming an 'integrated AI platform company' that will eventually cover generative AI and data governance."
