Hecto Data expands remote identity verification services, adds passport recognition support

Hecto Data said on Tuesday it will add passport recognition support to its ID and document OCR services. The company said its ID OCR now supports four types: resident registration cards, alien registration cards, driver\'s licenses and passports. Its document OCR covers corporate registry certificates, corporate seal certificates and business registration certificates for individuals and companies. It also introduced liveness and face-match services and provides its OCR via APIs through a developer center.

Military life in one app: \'Jangbyeong e-um\' to launch full service in October

South Korea\'s National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Ministry of National Defense said they will launch the full service of \'Jangbyeong e-um\' in October. Built on a private-sector cloud, it integrates services previously spread across 46 systems into a single platform covering conscription assessment, personnel and welfare services during service, and reserve duty after discharge. It also introduces a mobile military ID and will add 14 services including an AI chatbot.
