AI data and solutions firm Flitto said its second-quarter operating profit fell 42.5% from a year earlier to 1.4 billion won.
Flitto's half-year report on Aug. 11 showed second-quarter consolidated revenue fell 13.6% to 8.1 billion won from 9.4 billion won a year earlier. Net profit fell 33.1% to 1.6 billion won over the same period.
First-half revenue fell 4.8% to 13.3 billion won from 14.0 billion won a year earlier. Operating profit fell 48.8% to 1.3 billion won from 2.6 billion won. Net profit fell 32.1% to 1.7 billion won.
Results improved from the previous quarter. Flitto posted an operating loss of about 64 million won in the first quarter but returned to an operating profit in the second quarter. Revenue also rose 55.5% to 8.1 billion won in the second quarter from 5.2 billion won in the first quarter.
First-half revenue by business was 6.6 billion won from data sales, 3.0 billion won from platform services, 2.4 billion won from solutions and 1.3 billion won from other businesses. Data sales accounted for the largest share at 49.5% of total revenue.
Chief executive Jeong-su Lee (이정수) of Flitto said, "In the second half, we will fully scale up data partnerships with global big tech and successfully complete key government-led B2G projects."
