Nexon to open pre-registration for competitive MMORPG \'Item Trick: Overgeared\' on Oct. 1

Nexon will begin pre-registration for its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game \'Item Trick: Overgeared\' at 10 a.m. on Oct. 1, it said on Wednesday. The sign-up will be available via the official page as well as Kakao, Google Play and the App Store, with in-game benefits to be provided after launch. Nexon also released a cinematic video and plans a podcast-style content series.

Kakao woos shareholders on spinoff, targets 1 trillion won AI revenue and 300 billion won buyback cancellation

Kakao is seeking to win over retail shareholders ahead of a planned corporate spinoff into continuing company KakaoX and new unit KakaoAI. KakaoAI aims to begin monetising AI services in 2027 and targets more than 1 trillion won in AI revenue by 2030. KakaoX plans to use gains from selling its stake in Dunamu to buy back and cancel 300 billion won of treasury shares over three years after the split.

Nexon unveils teaser for new MMORPG \'Overgeared\', set for release this year

Nexon will launch its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) \'Overgeared\', based on the web novel and webtoon intellectual property \'Item-Bearing\', in Korea and in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau later this year. The company released a cinematic teaser on Sept. 9 for the title being developed by Gray Games. Nexon plans to offer the game as a cross-platform service for PC and mobile and to disclose development updates and key content from October.
