Disney raises Disney+ and Hulu prices, considers free tier
Disney has raised subscription prices again for Disney+ and Hulu, including its ad-free bundle and standalone plans. The ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle rises to $21.99 a month, while the ad-free standalone plans rise to $21.49. The ad-supported standalone plans were adjusted to $12.49 a month. Disney has also been reported to be considering a free Disney+ tier and recently added a playlist feature.

Amazon Prime Video joins short-form news race with News Clips
Amazon is adding short-form news to Prime Video as more users consume news through brief videos on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. Prime Video has introduced News Clips in the United States, offering edited local and national news from multiple providers on a dedicated page. The service starts on TV and Fire TV devices and will expand to the web and iOS and Android apps. It is free for all Amazon customers in the United States.

Global OTT rules shift as bundling gains momentum
Bundling that packages rival companies’ content on a single streaming platform is gaining pace in the global OTT industry. Amazon has enabled Prime Video users to subscribe to services such as HBO Max and Apple TV via its app, and YouTube and Roku are stepping up efforts toward one-stop TV viewing. YouTube will bundle NBCUniversal’s Peacock for Premium subscribers. Netflix has also moved to integrate France’s TF1 and is discussing options to offer Peacock and Fox One.
