[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] NBCUniversal streaming platform Peacock is seeking a major shift toward AI and mobile-focused entertainment. TechCrunch reported on March 13 (local time) that Peacock plans to revamp its mobile app into a blend of TikTok, a casual gaming hub and a streaming service.

A standout feature is the AI-powered "Bravoverse". It automatically edits short clips from popular programmes such as reality shows "Real Housewives" and "Vanderpump Rules" to create personalised playlists, with an AI avatar providing narration in Andy Cohen’s voice.

Peacock said AI can use computer vision to analyse key storylines and generate more than 600 trillion personalised viewing variations.

Peacock plans to offer live sports on mobile in a new way. It will support vertical live broadcasts of NBA games using AI-based real-time cropping technology, available from this spring through the "Courtside Live" feature. Peacock introduced a short-form video feed last year and plans to expand it into a standalone in-app section this summer. It appears similar to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts and is seen as a strategy to attract viewers' attention.

Peacock is also strengthening its mobile game lineup. After introducing mini games last year, it is launching new mystery games such as "Law & Order: Clue Hunter" and "Public Eye".
