Samsung Electronics, Harvard Medical School to study monitoring side effects of obesity drugs with Galaxy Watch
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it will pursue a joint study with Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, to track physical changes in patients taking GLP-1 obesity drugs using the Galaxy Watch. The study will use the Galaxy Watch8’s BioActive Sensor and follow 100 adults starting weight-loss drug therapy. Researchers will compare a group using the watch for body composition and activity monitoring with a standard-treatment group, alongside DXA scans.

Samsung Electronics succeeds in predicting vasovagal syncope with Galaxy Watch
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it became the first in the world to prove through a joint clinical study with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital that a Galaxy Watch can predict vasovagal syncope at an early stage. The results were published in the latest issue of European Heart Journal-Digital Health, a digital health journal published by the European Society of Cardiology. The study analysed real-time heart rate variability data collected by the Galaxy Watch6 and predicted signs of syncope about 5 minutes in advance with 84.6 percent accuracy.

Skylabs launches CART ON ring-type ward blood pressure monitoring solution
Skylabs said on Monday it has launched CART ON, a ward-specific solution that uses a ring-type blood pressure monitor to automatically measure and manage blood pressure data for hospitalised patients. The company said the launch expands its business beyond outpatient and consumer markets into ward patient monitoring. Data collected is linked to Seers Technology’s inpatient monitoring platform thynC and is automatically sent and recorded in nurse-station dashboards and hospital EMR systems. Daewoong Pharmaceutical will handle domestic sales.
