Apple launches high blood pressure notification feature in South Korea
Apple is rolling out its Apple Watch high blood pressure notification feature in South Korea, the company said on Jan. 28. After users enable it in the Health app, an algorithm analyses 30 days of data and sends an alert if signs of chronic hypertension are detected. Apple said performance was validated in a clinical study of more than 2,000 people and the algorithm used data from more than 100,000 participants. The feature does not provide blood pressure readings and has eligibility and device restrictions.
