LG Electronics joins South Korea partners to restore marine ecosystems

LG Electronics will use functional new materials to help restore marine ecosystems. The company said it signed an agreement with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, South Gyeongsang province and the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency to create seaweed forests off Deokmyeong-ri in Goseong county from 2026 to 2029. The project will apply LG Marine Balance, which releases mineral ions in water. LG also said it has proprietary control technology and is expanding production capacity.

Cloud Networks to supply Kong AI traffic management gateway in South Korea

Cloud Networks said on Aug. 18 it has partnered with global API and AI connectivity company Kong to supply Kong AI Gateway in South Korea. The company said Kong AI Gateway centrally manages enterprise AI traffic through a single gateway. The two companies said they will cooperate to support South Korean companies in building AI operating systems as governance and control needs rise with broader workplace use of generative AI and large language models.

AI data race moves beyond chatbots to learning how humans work

The race to secure AI training data is shifting from improving chatbot answers to teaching systems how people actually work, Business Insider reported. Large language models have advanced using internet text, books and human ratings, but that approach has limits for building AI agents that handle complex work over hours or days. Companies are turning to reinforcement learning environments that simulate workplaces and reward task completion. Google, Tesla, Meta, Scale AI and Uber are cited as pursuing such efforts.
