Open-source AI agent Hermes raises Series B at $1.5 billion valuation, targets enterprises
Nous Research, which develops the open-source AI agent Hermes, has raised $90 million in Series B funding at a $1.5 billion valuation, TechCrunch reported. Robot Ventures led the round, with participation from Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Samsung, it said. The company’s total funding has risen to $158 million. Nous Research plans to use the funds to target enterprises with Hermes for Business.

Upstage unveils Solar Pro 4, available on OpenRouter and others
Upstage unveiled Solar Pro 4, a commercial large language model with enhanced reasoning and agent capabilities, the company said on Thursday. It has been listed on the U.S. Nous Research Hermes Agent and the API routing platform OpenRouter, the first Korean model to be registered there, Upstage said. The company said cumulative token usage topped 80 billion within three days. It also posted benchmark results and said Solar Pro 4 is applied to its Upstage Studio document-processing solution.

Open Secure AI Alliance launches with Nvidia and global partners; SK Telecom and Naver join
The Open Secure AI Alliance, a consortium to develop and share open technologies, techniques and tools to protect software and agents in the AI era, is launching under the lead of Nvidia and global companies. Nvidia and founding members plan to jointly develop and share open models, agent harnesses and security tools supporting responsible AI use and improved trust. SK Telecom and Naver are among the participating South Korean companies.
