LG Uplus SIM updates and free replacements total more than 1 million

LG Uplus said on Wednesday that cumulative SIM updates and free replacements for all customers have exceeded 1 million. From April 13 to 22, it completed 427,385 SIM updates and 581,094 SIM replacements, for a total of 1,008,479 cases, with a cumulative replacement rate of 5.9 percent. The company has provided online guidance, reservation-based operations and on-site support, and is expanding visiting services and support for island areas.

Naver to buy 30 percent stake in GS Wind Power, signs 25-year direct PPA

Naver said on Tuesday it will acquire a 30 percent stake in GS Wind Power and sign a direct renewable power purchase agreement. The deal is the first case in South Korea in which a RE100 member invests directly in a renewable power generation company to secure energy. The wind farm under construction in Yeongyang, North Gyeongsang Province is to supply electricity to Naver’s Sejong and Chuncheon data centres from commercial operations starting in the first half of 2028.

LG Uplus processes 180,000 SIM replacements and updates on first day

LG Uplus posted 181,009 cases on the first day of its SIM update and free replacement programme aimed at addressing a security vulnerability in the subscriber identification number (IMSI) on existing SIM cards. The carrier processed 95,986 SIM updates and 85,023 SIM replacements. It has begun rolling out the measures sequentially to all customers from April 13, with app and website options available and store visits requiring reservations.
