NIFS says cause of Samlip Sihwa factory fire cannot be determined
South Korea’s National Forensic Service has concluded it is not possible to make a specific determination on what caused the fire that broke out in February at Samlip’s Sihwa factory. The agency said the blaze may have started inside the ceiling directly above an oven or from ignition in the oven’s exhaust piping, but severe burning, deformation, collapse and loss prevented a concrete finding. Police plan to review assessments by related agencies.
