[Barcelona, Spain = DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] LG Uplus said on Wednesday it won three categories at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026, including the top "CTO Choice" prize.
The GLOMO awards are a top global awards programme in mobile communications hosted by GSMA. LG Uplus won CTO Choice, awarded to the best technology in the "Mobile Tech" category. CTO Choice is selected by a panel of expert judges including chief technology officers from the global telecommunications industry.
LG Uplus cited its AI security technology as the basis for the awards. LG Uplus became the first in the world to introduce an on-device "Anti-Deepvoice" technology that detects tampered voice in real time in its ixi-O AI agent service. It has also strengthened personal information protection and security capabilities through post-quantum cryptography.
LG Uplus' integrated security technology ixi-Guardian also won in the "Best Network Security & Fraud Prevention" category. The award is given to technology that secures network security and service stability in a complex cyber threat environment.
LG Uplus also received the "Marketing for Good" award in the "Marketing Excellence" category. The award was newly created this year. LG Uplus received high marks for working with the Korean National Police Agency and the National Forensic Service to reflect criminal voice, report cases and malicious app patterns in its AI security functions, and for expanding customer-participation prevention activities through online and offline experiences and education programmes.
LG Uplus plans to use the awards to pursue global expansion of its AI security technology and to advance related services.
LG Uplus CTO Sang-yeop Lee (이상엽) said, "This CTO Choice award means that LG Uplus' AI security technology has been objectively recognised on the global stage," adding, "We will continue to advance our AI security technology to increase trust in telecommunications services and improve customer convenience."
