U.S. SEC includes XRP, Solana in new Nasdaq order, signaling institutional entry for four cryptocurrencies

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a Nasdaq Texas rule change that defines bitcoin and ether, along with solana and XRP, as “digital commodities” under exchange rules. The amendment allows actively managed crypto strategies and permits funds to hold assets that do not meet listing standards up to 15 percent of net asset value. The SEC said the move does not create a new federal commodities classification or approve specific XRP or Solana ETFs.

XRP up 7 percent as some spot ETFs jump 17 percent in rare price dislocation

Some U.S.-listed XRP spot exchange-traded funds rose nearly twice as much as the XRP token, showing an unusual price dislocation. While XRP gained about 7 percent intraday, some regulated fund shares jumped 16 to 17 percent. Analysts pointed to low liquidity and order-flow distortions that pushed ETF prices into a premium over net asset value. Despite the rally, the market recorded a net outflow of $7.2 million the prior day, all from Bitwise.

ETF and stablecoin inflows weaken, Wintermute picks RWA as next funding source

An analysis says real-world assets (RWA) could emerge as a new pillar of liquidity for the next crypto bull market as key funding channels that have supported the market gradually lose strength. Crypto market maker Wintermute said previous bull-market inflow routes are entering an exhaustion phase. It said stablecoin supply has contracted sharply, bitcoin spot ETF flows have turned to net outflows, and many crypto-treasury stocks trade below net asset value.
