Motif Technologies raises 24 billion won in Series B to boost proprietary AI development
Motif Technologies said on Tuesday it raised 24 billion won in a Series B funding round to strengthen its AI deep-tech capabilities. Existing investors NICE Investment Partners and Nautilus Investment made follow-on investments, while Dito Investment and Forest Ventures joined as new backers. CEO Jeong-hwan Lim said the company will push ahead with ongoing projects, develop corporate AX solutions, and advance next-generation AI infrastructure and services.

Motif builds proprietary tools instead of Nvidia software for homegrown AI foundation model development
Motif Technologies, a developer of proprietary AI foundation models, is seeking differentiation by using its own platform rather than Nvidia software tools. It says using Nvidia’s general-purpose tools makes it hard to beat big tech firms with superior computing power. Chief Executive Jung-hwan Lim said Nvidia tools limit developer flexibility and can lock users into Nvidia’s ecosystem. Motif uses Nvidia GPUs and CUDA but replaces Nvidia’s model development tools with in-house software.

Motif Technologies to hire developers for proprietary AI foundation model project
Motif Technologies, which is participating in the development of a proprietary AI foundation model, said on Sunday it will hold an open recruitment drive to advance development and expand its business. The hiring covers AI research engineers, applied AI engineers, and business development and operations staff. The company said it will provide benefits including flexible working hours, equipment support funds, health checkups, and 2 million won a year in welfare points.
