Drones and smart glasses help visually impaired workers as AI expands jobs
As staffing becomes harder at U.S. logistics warehouses, a new approach combining employment of visually impaired people with AI assistive technology is drawing attention. Bosma Enterprises in Indiana uses AI drones, Meta smart glasses, screen magnification software and screen readers to support logistics and inventory work. The company introduced an autonomous drone-based inventory system with Gather AI, boosting speed and accuracy. Executives said e-commerce is raising labour needs.

Korean telecoms launch Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus on Tuesday launched the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and began targeting the AI wearable market. Developed through a partnership between Meta and global eyewear company EssilorLuxottica, the glasses support AI functions via voice commands as well as photo and video capture, calls and music. The telecoms are selling the Wayfarer model for 690,000 won or 740,000 won, depending on lens and frame options, and are offering bundled benefits and offline sales.
