Ion Storage Systems passes first commercial validation for solid-state battery in U.S.
U.S. battery technology company Ion Storage Systems said its solid-state battery product, the Cornerstone Cell, has passed a customer performance validation. An electric-vehicle outlet reported the company called it the first such customer validation among U.S. solid-state battery firms. Ion is focusing first on industrial equipment and consumer electronics rather than electric vehicles. Production is set for a plant in Beltsville, Maryland, with a new sintering furnace planned for 2026.
