MakinaRocks first-half sales hit 7 billion won, up 168 percent year-on-year

Physical AI company MakinaRocks said on Thursday its consolidated first-half revenue rose 168 percent from a year earlier to 7 billion won. Its operating loss narrowed 28 percent to 4.2 billion won. New orders in the first half exceeded 20 billion won, more than triple the year-earlier level, and surpassed last year’s full-year total. The company also said its financial structure improved after a KOSDAQ listing in May.

MakinaRocks develops anomaly detection AI solution for HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore welding robots

MakinaRocks said on Monday it has completed development of a physical AI-based anomaly detection model for welding robots with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore. The project follows a memorandum of understanding signed last year on using AI to improve robot process efficiency, with a focus on rapidly applying AI at shipyard sites. The company said it used an approach based on normal operating data due to limited fault-history data.

SKT steps up ties with physical AI startups to expand robotics ecosystem

SK Telecom is strengthening cooperation with 8 South Korean physical AI and robotics startups and expanding field demonstrations at business sites. SKT said it held a meeting in Seoul on July 30 to share related technologies and industry trends. Participants discussed joint demonstrations in manufacturing, logistics and services, and reviewed ways to combine SK Group capabilities such as AI semiconductors, AI data centers and digital twins with startup robotics technologies.
