Apple signals major MacBook Pro, iMac overhaul, opening OLED, touchscreen era
Apple is expected to carry out a major overhaul of its Mac lineup from late this year through 2028, including MacBook Pro and iMac updates. Bloomberg reported the company is preparing staggered updates for MacBook Air, Mac mini and Mac Studio. Apple is said to be preparing a next-generation M7 Ultra chip with up to 1.5 TB of unified memory. If released, Apple silicon Macs would reach the top memory specification of the 2019 Intel Mac Pro. Bloomberg\'s Mark Gurman wrote in a newsletter that Apple is preparing the support, but said the configuration may not ship because of an ongoing memory supply shortage. The plan is seen as widening memory limits for professional users.
