[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] Apple may unveil more than 15 new products this fall, a possibility has been raised.
According to IT outlet 9to5Mac on May 15 (local time), products discussed for a release in the second half span iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, Mac, iPad, home devices and smart glasses.
The iPhone 18 lineup is drawing the most attention. Apple is expected to further strengthen an ultra-premium strategy with this lineup. The base iPhone 18 would be excluded, with iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, a first foldable model dubbed iPhone Ultra, and iPhone Air 2 released instead.
The iPhone 18 Pro could feature a variable-aperture camera, a smaller Dynamic Island and new colors. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to add a larger battery. The iPhone Ultra is being mentioned as Apple's first foldable iPhone.
Audio and wearable products are also set for an overhaul. AirPods Ultra was discussed as being based on AirPods Pro 3, adding an infrared camera and an H3 chip to strengthen artificial intelligence functions. Apple Watch Ultra 4 is said to be getting new health sensors and design changes, and Apple Watch Series 12 is also expected this fall. Still, not much is known so far about Apple Watch Series 12.
In the Mac lineup, updates to desktop models are expected to be the focus. The M5 Mac mini is to be released in M5 and M5 Pro versions, with the emphasis likely on performance improvements rather than major design changes.
The M5 Mac Studio could carry a new M5 Ultra chip alongside the M5 Max, the report said. The M5 iMac is expected to see color adjustments. A high-end model dubbed MacBook Ultra, with an OLED display and touch functions, is also being discussed as a new lineup.
In the iPad lineup, an entry-level model and a mini model are key points to watch in the second half. A new iPad mini is expected to get an OLED display and a chip upgrade, while the base iPad is expected to support Apple Intelligence by adopting an A18 chip. Given that the iPad Air has already come out in the first half, Apple may move to bolster the remaining iPad lineup in the second half.
An expansion of home devices is also in focus. Apple is being discussed as adding an A17 Pro chip and Apple Intelligence to a new Apple TV 4K, and it could also add a built-in camera. Candidates also include a HomePad or HomePod Touch with a 7-inch touchscreen, a HomePod 3 with a new chip, and a HomePod mini 2. An Apple security camera supporting HomeKit Secure Video, and a video doorbell that uses Face ID to link with smart locks, are also seen as possibilities.
Still, the expansion of home products is tied to the timeline for introducing a new Siri. Apple plans to push the expansion of its home lineup, but observers also say Siri needs to come first. As a result, actual launch timing for some products could be affected by Siri readiness.
The possibility of unveiling smart glasses also remains. This product, which could be called Apple Glass or Apple Vision, is expected to ship in 2027, but Apple is reported to have discussed an option to unveil it first during 2026. That would follow a pattern of showing products months before a formal launch, as with Apple Watch, Vision Pro and HomePod. The device is said to link with iPhone and offer Siri-centered AI functions and a built-in camera.
Apple's strategy for the second half can be summed up as an expanded premium iPhone lineup, a transition to M5-based Macs and an expansion of home devices. If a foldable iPhone and smart glasses are added, Apple would keep a flow of new products across major hardware categories through year-end. Still, the launch timing for iPhone Air 2 remains unclear, and it is not yet confirmed whether smart glasses will be unveiled.
Apple's second-half product strategy is expected to go beyond performance upgrades in existing lineups, focusing on an ultra-premium lineup and an expansion of an AI-based device ecosystem. In particular, if iPhone Ultra, MacBook Ultra and smart glasses are unveiled, Apple product pricing and user experience could be reshaped at a higher level.
Still, many of the products currently being discussed are at a stage where launch timing and specifications have not been confirmed. As a result, this fall's Apple product cycle is expected to hinge on whether the iPhone 18 lineup is unveiled, and how far Siri changes and the scope of Apple Intelligence adoption expand.
