LG Electronics targets Middle East smart home market with ThinQ ON AI hub

LG Electronics has opened its first Middle East business-to-business AI home experience space in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together home appliances and building management in a single showroom. The company is showcasing AI home solutions centered on its ThinQ ON hub, including voice-based generative AI controls and connectivity with the Homey Pro IoT platform. It is also displaying turnkey building management offerings with partners including Schneider Electric and Assa Abloy.

LG Electronics to unveil expanded AI home ecosystem at IFA 2026

LG Electronics will present an expanded AI home ecosystem at IFA 2026 in Berlin from local time Sept. 4 for five days, it said on Sept. 3. Under the theme “Innovation tailored to you,” it will unveil about 150 key products and devote about 46 percent of its booth to partner-only consultations. It will highlight the LG ThinQ On hub, LG ThinQ platform and new ThinQ Clo agent, and show an energy system using Athom’s Homi.

LG to refund up to 300 won per hour in electricity fees for appliance use

LG Electronics said on Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Electric Power to 추진 a pilot “smart appliance cashback” project. Customers who use certain LG appliances during designated hours in spring and autumn can receive refunds based on electricity use, up to 300 won per hour. The refund is deducted automatically from the electricity bill through KEPCO’s energy cashback service. Eligible products include washers, dryers, dishwashers, stylers and combined washer-dryers.
