[Digital Today reporter Daegeon Seok (석대건)] LG Electronics said its “LG for All, for Everyone - The Problem Is No Problem” video hit 1 million views within 2 weeks of its release. It said on Jan. 29 the video shows a hearing-impaired high school student, a visually impaired child and a grandfather who is not good at cooking using LG Electronics products and services to use home appliances more easily.

In the video, students at Seoul Samsung School use real-time video calls with a sign-language counselor to find solutions when they have questions while watching TV. Students at Hanbit School for the Blind pour and drink water on their own using a water purifier’s voice recognition function. A grandfather at the Seoul Senior Welfare Center scans a food barcode on the ThinQ app connected to a lightwave oven to automatically set the cooking time.

The video is part of the “LG for All, for Everyone” campaign. Since 2022, LG Electronics has produced videos featuring real usage scenes to help customers with visual, hearing and physical disabilities and senior customers use its products more easily. It has produced 23 campaign videos so far.

LG Electronics is also introducing various accessibility solutions. They include the “LG Comfort Kit,” which strengthens user experience by attaching accessories to home appliances or through software updates, and “LG ThinQ On,” which controls home appliances by voice. Its OLED TVs provide a “sign-language guide,” in which a sign-language avatar explains menus, and a “listen simultaneously with hearing aids” function that lets viewers watch with hearing adjusted to their hearing aids.

It is also running the “Home Appliance School Project,” which helps children and teenagers use products safely, and the “Best Companion Care Service,” which supports people with disabilities and seniors when visiting Best Shop stores. Since 2021, it has also provided a “sign-language consultation service” in which counseling consultants who have sign-language interpretation qualifications and specialist service knowledge conduct video consultations, a first in the home appliance industry.
