Not all L1s are the same: Ark Invest on the business structures of ETH, SOL and HYPE

Ethereum, Solana and Hyperliquid are all layer-1 blockchains, but their business structures and revenue models differ fundamentally, an analysis said. Ark Invest crypto research director Lorenzo Valente compared the three to fast-food chains, likening Ethereum to a franchise and holding-company model where value flows to L2s after EIP-4844. He described Solana as a fully integrated model keeping fees and MEV inside L1, and Hyperliquid as a concentrated team-led model using fees to buy HYPE tokens.

Drivers rate smart climate control and remote start highest in new-car tech survey

Drivers are more satisfied with car technologies that work automatically without drawing attention, rather than large displays or complex automation, a survey found. JD Power surveyed 68,084 U.S. owners who bought 2026 model-year cars and drove them for 90 days, evaluating 40 technologies. Remote start ranked first, with few reported problems. Smart climate control also scored highly. Passenger displays were rarely used and had more issues. Level 2 systems outscored Level 2+ in user experience.

Qualcomm unveils next-generation Snapdragon CPU, first mobile chip to hit 5 GHz

Qualcomm unveiled key technologies for its next-generation Snapdragon flagship platform on Tuesday, introducing the new Qualcomm Oryon CPU. The company said the mobile CPU reaches 5 GHz for the first time and also raises instructions per cycle, boosting perceived performance across apps, gaming, content creation and agentic AI. Qualcomm said it used a fully custom design and introduced a new cache architecture, Qualcomm Oryon FlexCache, to dynamically allocate cache across heterogeneous cores.
