Korean Air to convert Archer Midnight flying taxi into military transport aircraft

Korean Air has begun work with U.S. flying taxi startup Archer Aviation to convert the electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft Midnight into a military model. The partners aim to adapt the existing platform to Korean military standards for troop transport and short-range missions. Korean Air will handle modifications and Archer will support technology and airworthiness certification. The plan is also linked to Korea’s future aviation industry strategy and its UAM programme targeting 2028 commercial services.
