Korean Air to convert Archer Midnight flying taxi into military transport aircraft
Korean Air has begun work with U.S. flying taxi startup Archer Aviation to convert the electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft Midnight into a military model. The partners aim to adapt the existing platform to Korean military standards for troop transport and short-range missions. Korean Air will handle modifications and Archer will support technology and airworthiness certification. The plan is also linked to Korea’s future aviation industry strategy and its UAM programme targeting 2028 commercial services.

SC First Bank launches Korean Air mileage deposit offering up to 3.65 percent
SC First Bank has launched a time deposit product that pays after-tax interest at maturity in Korean Air mileage. The bank said it partnered with Korean Air to offer the product and will run a launch event through Oct. 31. Customers can choose 6- or 12-month terms, with base rates of 3.15 percent and 3.55 percent. Preferential rates can lift returns to 3.25 percent and 3.65 percent, depending on deposit size and customer status.

Kiwoom Securities Q2 operating profit up 93 percent to 789 billion won
Kiwoom Securities posted stronger-than-expected results for the second quarter, helped by rising trading value in the domestic stock market and solid performance in its sales and trading business. The firm reported operating profit of 789 billion won, up 93.2 percent from a year earlier, and revenue of 16.07 trillion won, up 256.7 percent. Net profit rose 119.4 percent to 681 billion won.
