Shinhan, Hana and Woori expand supply chain finance with Korea Trade Insurance Corp for shipbuilding
Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank and Woori Bank are expanding financing with the Korea Trade Insurance Corp to support the shipbuilding industry’s supply chain. The banks and shipbuilders signed an agreement in Ulsan on May 13. Shinhan and Samsung Heavy Industries will jointly contribute 21.3 billion won, which will back 300 billion won in special guarantees. Hana will pursue 400 billion won in financing with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, while Woori and Hanwha Ocean will supply 300 billion won in shared-growth financing.

Hana Bank to support exporters\' overseas expansion with KOTRA, K-SURE
Hana Bank will work with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea Trade Insurance Corp (K-SURE) to support small and midsize exporters entering overseas markets. The bank said it signed a business agreement with the two organisations. The programme will offer preferential export-package financing linked to guarantee products, support for short-term export insurance premiums, and preferential foreign-exchange fees and rates. It will also cover 100 percent of guarantee fees for the first year and raise the export credit guarantee fee support limit.

Korea Display Association launches full-cycle supply chain checks amid supply worries
The Korea Display Industry Association shared financial support measures for the sector to respond to supply chain instability stemming from the Middle East. It held a briefing in Seoul attended by more than 100 panel and materials, parts and equipment companies. Agenda items included the Supply Chain Stabilisation Fund, the National Growth Fund to be launched this year, export insurance and credit guarantees, and advance review of tax credits. The association also set up a supply chain response centre.
