South Korean artificial intelligence models are expanding across industrial sites, from semiconductor manufacturing to autonomous farm machinery and nuclear power plant operations. SK Telecom is applying its AI model to SK Hynix work environments and is reviewing deployment at chipmaking sites. 54 public bodies win S grade in 2025 personal data protection assessment
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said 54 public institutions won the top S grade in its 2025 assessment of personal data protection levels covering 1,442 public bodies. The average total score was 76.5 points, and 342 institutions received a B grade, the largest group. By type, state-run firms and quasi-government agencies scored highest on average, while basic local governments scored lowest.

TerraPower wins U.S. approval for commercial SMR construction, first new reactor permit in 10 years
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved construction of a TerraPower small modular reactor, SK Innovation said on Wednesday. It was the first time in 10 years that the NRC has permitted construction of a new commercial nuclear power plant, and the first U.S. approval for an advanced reactor such as an SMR. TerraPower will begin building what it called the world’s first commercial SMR plant in Wyoming and aims to start operating a demonstration reactor in 2030.
