Hancom supplies Hancom Assistant to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power

Hancom said on July 23 it supplied its AI document-writing solution, Hancom Assistant, to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. Under the project, KHNP employees can use the tool together with Hy-NuRI, a nuclear power plant-specialised generative AI platform built by KHNP. Hancom Assistant links with Hy-NuRI to draft documents using internal knowledge data and supports natural-language search, report drafting, proofreading, summarising, data-linked writing and standard templates.

Baek Kyung-hoon marks one year in office, says time to deliver tangible results on AI

Deputy Prime Minister Baek Kyung-hoon said his first year in office focused on building a foundation for an AI transition and that it is now time to deliver and prove tangible results. He highlighted progress on a homegrown AI foundation model project and a broader consensus on the need to secure GPUs. The government is pursuing a two-track strategy for domestic and frontier models, preparing a nationwide AI service and advancing plans for data, 6G, R&D and power supply for AI data centres.

KB Kookmin Bank consortium picked as preferred bidder for Jeonbuk offshore wind project

A consortium involving KB Kookmin Bank has been selected as the preferred bidder for the Jeonbuk southwest offshore wind public project in South Korea. The project will first develop 800 MW of a planned 2.5 GW offshore wind complex in waters off Buan, North Jeolla Province, under a public-led model in which public institutions hold at least 50 percent. KB Kookmin plans to provide financial advisory services and arrange project financing.
