MOTIE says M.AX Alliance expands to 1,300 participants; humanoid pilots to rise to 30 sites
South Korea\'s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has expanded the M.AX Alliance, a consultative body for manufacturing AI transformation, to 11 subcommittees with more than 1,300 companies and institutions within six months of its launch. The ministry plans to increase humanoid robot pilot projects from 10 sites last year to at least 30 this year, prioritising hazardous tasks such as shipyard welding and logistics transfers.

Jung Haesung and Jang Yonghyun win February Korea Engineer Award
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Industrial Technology Association selected Jung Haesung of Korea Aerospace Industries and Jang Yonghyun of Hancom Lifecare as February Korea Engineer Award winners. Jung was recognised for developing integrated operating software for automated test equipment, while Jang was cited for developing an ultralight firefighter breathing apparatus using high-strength carbon materials that reduces weight and improves durability.
