Xiaomi EV 2026 delivery target of 550,000 faces red flag

Xiaomi\'s goal of delivering 550,000 electric vehicles in 2026 looks difficult to achieve at the current sales pace, Cleantechnica reported on Aug. 12. Cumulative deliveries through July 2026 totalled 216,322 vehicles, less than half the annual target, with only five months remaining in the year. Xiaomi delivered 31,267 vehicles in July. The outlet said Xiaomi\'s growth has been unusual, but it needs a faster pickup in the second half.

iPhone 18 Pro costs seen surging, could be 38 percent higher than 17 Pro

Parts costs for Apple\'s iPhone 18 Pro 256GB model due this autumn are expected to rise about 38 percent from the prior generation, a forecast said. TrendForce sees higher costs driven by a surge in memory prices as producers shift capacity to high-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators. Memory cost is estimated to jump to $145 from $39 on the iPhone 17 Pro, and the share of memory in total parts cost is forecast to rise sharply.

KT posts Q2 consolidated revenue of 6.68 trillion won, operating profit of 648.3 billion won; AX business up 22.3 percent

KT reported second-quarter consolidated revenue of 6.68 trillion won and operating profit of 648.3 billion won under K-IFRS. Revenue fell 10.1 percent and operating profit slid 36.1 percent from a year earlier. KT said profit was hurt by base effects from one-off gains last year, but improved from the first quarter on growth businesses such as data centres and real estate and stronger performance at content units.
