South Korea, Mongolia resume science and technology cooperation after 14 years, expand AI cooperation

South Korea and Mongolia have resumed official cooperation in science and technology for the first time in 14 years, holding a joint committee meeting and a science and technology forum. South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held the third South Korea-Mongolia Joint Committee on Science and Technology in Ulaanbaatar on July 8 with Mongolia\'s Ministry of Economy and Development. The sides discussed exchanges and joint research and signed multiple cooperation memorandums.

Koo Hyuk-chae discusses AI, quantum cooperation with Australian ambassador to South Korea

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said First Vice Minister Koo Hyuk-chae met Australian Ambassador to South Korea Jeff Robinson on Thursday at the Australian Embassy in Seoul. They discussed multilateral research cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and ways to deepen bilateral science, technology and digital cooperation. The two sides reviewed progress on cooperation tasks agreed in December and explored closer collaboration in advanced fields including AI and quantum technology.

South Korea discusses AI, quantum cooperation at Korea-Canada science conference

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Monday it attended the 2026 Korea-Canada Science and Technology Conference in Whistler, Canada, from June 21 to 25. The ministry said it encouraged Korean scientists and engineers in Canada and discussed directions for science and technology cooperation with the Canadian government. It said talks covered scheduling and agenda items for the fifth Korea-Canada Joint Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, and ways to expand joint research.
