Bitcoin holds near $64,500 as markets stay cautious despite cooling U.S. PCE

Bitcoin held around $64,500 on July 30, moving in tandem with a rebound in U.S. stocks as risk sentiment improved after U.S. PCE data met expectations and a semiconductor selloff eased. June PCE rose 3.7 percent year on year, slowing from May, and fell month on month for the first time since 2020. Still, analysts cautioned inflation remains well above the Fed’s 2.0 percent target.

Fed chair \'no inflation easing\' comment rattles markets; bitcoin slips below $64,000

Bitcoin rose above $64,400 right after the U.S. Federal Reserve kept its policy rate unchanged, but slid back below $64,000 after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s hawkish remarks. Over 24 hours, it was up just 0.13%. The Fed held rates at 3.50 to 3.75%, with three FOMC members dissenting for a 25-basis-point hike. Other major crypto prices were mostly rangebound, while risk assets faced pressure from higher oil prices and rising U.S. Treasury yields.
