Agentic AI ecosystem strategy nears release as ministry holds workshop
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held a workshop on April 27 to discuss an agentic artificial intelligence ecosystem development strategy it plans to release in the first half of the year. Agentic AI refers to AI that understands complex user commands on its own and carries out tasks. The workshop reviewed the direction for the strategy and ways to produce outcomes from the newly launched national Agentic AI Alliance.

Dinotesia, SBS build AI search for 100,000 hours of broadcast video
Dinotesia is working with SBS to advance a large-scale AI search system for a broadcast archive, based on about 100,000 hours of video data. The upgrade aims to enable semantic, multimodal searches that go beyond keyword matching to find scenes using combined conditions such as people, actions, backgrounds and situations. Dinotesia is also reviewing the use of its VDPU acceleration chip for faster processing and scalability.

IITP announces 2026 TOPCIT software competency test plan
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) announced on Feb. 13 the 2026 implementation plan for the software competency test TOPCIT. The regular assessment will be conducted twice a year, in the first and second halves. TOPCIT will introduce new indicators for emerging technologies such as AI and data and increase the weight of technical areas, while revising the question structure to emphasize practical skills.
