LG Uplus expands Chuseok customer benefits from roaming to home cams

LG Uplus said on Tuesday it will run services and benefits tailored to customers’ holiday plans such as overseas travel and homecoming trips for Chuseok. It will offer roaming services, including an in-flight WiFi event running through the end of this year, and make its roaming call feature in the AI calling app Iksio available overseas. The company will also provide smart home services such as Home Cam Light, AI-content subscription discounts and partnership benefits through its Uplus membership program.

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers open preorders for iPhone 18 with discounts, AI and upgrade perks

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus will begin preorders for Apple\'s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max from Sept. 12 at 9 p.m. through Sept. 17, the telecommunications industry said on Thursday. The official domestic launch date is Sept. 18. The carriers are offering device discounts, trade-in compensation, AI service subscriptions and handset upgrade programmes, alongside instalment and card-linked benefits.

LG Uplus posts record Q2 operating profit, says enterprise infrastructure drove gains

LG Uplus said it posted a record quarterly operating profit in the second quarter, helped by growth in its AI data centre business and cost efficiency. Revenue fell 3.9 percent from a year earlier, but service revenue rose 2 percent and operating profit climbed 13.1 percent. The company said enterprise infrastructure revenue increased, including AI data centre sales. Mobile and smart home revenue also rose, and it announced additional share buybacks and a higher interim dividend.
