Apple eyes CXMT but capacity already near full, raising doubts over memory talks
Apple is approaching Chinese memory maker ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), but analysts say CXMT’s position has changed and may limit any impact on prices or supply control. ITmedia reported CXMT’s monthly DRAM wafer output exceeded 100,000 in 2024, with existing plants operating close to maximum. The company’s output rose steadily from 2019 and reached 1.62 million wafers in 2024, lifting it to No. 4 globally with about 5 percent share.

Anthropic tops growth in enterprise AI tools while Microsoft 365 leads install base
Anthropic recorded the fastest growth in the enterprise AI tools market, while Microsoft 365 had the largest number of enterprise accounts, an Okta analysis showed. Using anonymised access data from more than 20,000 companies from June 2022 to June 2026, Okta compared growth by net increases in corporate accounts. The findings also showed companies increasingly using multiple AI platforms at once, combining different services by work purpose rather than relying on a single platform.

Apple considers CXMT memory as shortage drags on
Apple is reviewing memory products from Chinese maker CXMT as memory supply shortages persist. Japanese ITmedia reported Apple is evaluating CXMT components while seeking assurances from the U.S. Commerce Department that CXMT will not be added to the Entity List. Analysts say the move reflects a longer-than-expected shortage and rising costs. Research firm TechInsights sees memory and storage costs for a future iPhone potentially rising sharply. Micron executives cited past customer price pressure and a 2023 downturn that cut investment.
