Volkswagen\'s U.S. EV sales plunge about 90 percent in third quarter

Volkswagen\'s electric vehicle sales in the United States fell about 90 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier, an analysis said, largely because fewer vehicles were available to sell. InsideEVs reported the automaker sold 1,421 EVs in July to September. ID.4 and ID.Buzz sales dropped sharply. Volkswagen halted ID.4 production at its Chattanooga plant and paused ID.Buzz imports, relying on inventory and offering discounts.

Gasoline, diesel new cars all but disappear as Norway EV share hits 98.7 percent

Battery-electric vehicles took a record 98.7 percent share of Norway’s new passenger-car registrations in August, as total registrations slipped 3.4 percent from a year earlier to 13,451. Volkswagen led by brand, followed by Toyota, with BMW, Volvo and China’s Xpeng next. Tesla fell to seventh on sharp annual declines, though it still leads year to date. OFV said further emissions cuts hinge on replacing older gasoline and diesel cars.

US reporter on China\'s EV competitiveness after driving more than 25 models

After test-driving more than 25 vehicles in China, a U.S. reporter singled out models they would want to buy, including Zeekr Mix, BYD Seagull, Xiaomi SU7 and YU7, Geely EX5 and Nio-backed Firefly. The assessment cited strong value across segments, from design and software to driving performance and interior packaging. The report said barriers still limit Chinese EVs in the United States, while overseas expansion is growing in markets such as Mexico.
