Woori Financial to provide 450 billion won PF support for Pohang AI data centre

Woori Financial Group will provide financial support for a Pohang artificial intelligence data centre project with a total cost of 600 billion won. It signed a project financing agreement for the Pohang AI Factory data centre to be built in Gwangmyeong General Industrial Complex in Pohang. The project will build a 40 MW power-capacity facility with 32 MW of IT load and aims for completion by end-2027. Funding includes 150 billion won in equity and 450 billion won in PF loans.

Korea Investment Trust Management to list strategic industries ETF

Korea Investment Trust Management will launch a new exchange-traded fund that diversifies investment across South Korean strategic industries led by semiconductors, alongside shipbuilding, defence and nuclear power. The ACE SemiconductorPlus Strategic Industries ETF will hold 10 stocks, selecting two representative names from each of five industries. The fifth industry will be chosen from a list including autos, and autos are expected at the time of listing.

KT applies AI to urban air mobility traffic control, unveils 5G aviation network technology

KT is showcasing key technologies for commercialising urban air mobility, including an AI-based traffic management platform and a 5G aviation network, at the 2026 Korea Drone and UAM Expo in Incheon. As part of the K-UAM One Team, it is running a joint booth with Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Incheon International Airport Corp and Korean Air. KT said its platform analyses flight data in real time to detect anomalies and support controller decisions.
