KB Financial recruits second round for programme supporting small businesses run by descendants of independence merit honorees

KB Financial Group is recruiting participants for the second round of its \"Luxury Shop\" programme to support small business owners who are descendants of independence merit honorees. The project aims to improve shop and housing environments and help strengthen livelihoods. This year, five stores will be newly selected after a comprehensive review of factors including income level, shop conditions and business sustainability. Applications are open until Aug. 31 via Korea Habitat’s website.

Samsung Ho-Am Awards to raise prize money to 500 million won

Prize money for the Samsung Ho-Am Awards will rise by nearly double from next year. The Hoam Foundation said on Tuesday it will increase the per-category prize for winners to 500 million won from the current 300 million won starting in 2027. Total prize money across six categories will expand to 3 billion won from 1.8 billion won. The increase will apply from the 37th awards in 2027.
