Woori Bank has obtained licences from UK regulators needed for client-facing derivatives business and securities management, it said. The bank said its London trading centre received approvals from the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority on May 29. Woori Bank began work on setting up the centre in January last year and submitted its application in July, receiving final approval about 10 months later. It plans to start full operations this month after completing internal procedures.

Ether slid to around $1,506 last week, its lowest since April 2025, as institutional flows, spot supply and derivatives positioning came under pressure. Markets saw simultaneous spot ETF outflows, rising deposits to centralised exchanges and futures deleveraging, while bitcoin fell toward $60,000. Spot ether ETFs recorded four straight weeks of net outflows exceeding $870 million, cutting assets sharply. Exchange inflows hit a four-month high, and options data showed stronger demand for downside protection.
