Hanwha Investment & Securities to raise up to 900 billion won, seek IFA status and expand digital asset business

Hanwha Investment & Securities plans a capital boost of up to 900 billion won to enter the integrated financial investment business category and expand its digital asset business. It approved a 500 billion won third-party share sale and the issuance of up to 400 billion won in hybrid capital securities. The share sale targets major shareholder Hanwha Asset Management and its parent, Hanwha Life. The firm said it will use the funds to strengthen core businesses and invest in digital-asset platforms and blockchain infrastructure.

Hana Financial, Hanwha Asset Management join hands with Abu Dhabi ADGM on stablecoins, cross-border payments

Hana Financial Group and Hanwha Asset Management will work with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) to explore digital finance opportunities including stablecoins and cross-border payments and remittances. Hana Financial said the three parties signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding on Sept. 16 to cooperate on stablecoin business and cross-border financial infrastructure linking South Korea and Abu Dhabi. The agreement focuses on jointly reviewing business models and infrastructure use rather than issuing a stablecoin or launching payment services immediately.
