KB Kookmin Bank issues first US dollar digital bond by a Korean bank
KB Kookmin Bank has successfully issued a blockchain-based US dollar digital bond, the first such deal by a South Korean bank. The bank said it sold a $100 million two-year digital bond with HSBC as sole arranger. The bond was issued via the HSBC Orion digital asset platform and linked to a clearing and settlement system run by a central securities depository under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Grayscale selected Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain and Canton Network as blockchains that could be most likely to attract institutional inflows after the passage of the Clarity Act. It said greater regulatory clarity could push capital toward networks with deeper on-chain finance foundations. The Clarity Act cleared the U.S. Senate Banking Committee on May 14 by 15-9 and now heads to a full Senate vote, where 60 votes are needed for final passage.
