Digital Asset, developer of the Canton blockchain, has raised an additional $10 million investment from South Korea's Shinhan Financial Group and Standard Chartered's SC Ventures.

TheBlock recently reported that the investment increased the total size of Digital Asset's ongoing funding round to $365 million from $355 million. The investment was made at the same $2 billion valuation as the previous round.

Digital Asset last month announced it had raised $355 million in a round led by the Andreessen Horowitz crypto fund a16z crypto. Traditional and decentralised finance institutions participated, including ABN Amro, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Apollo Fund, BNP Paribas, Citadel Securities, CME Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Hanwha Investment & Securities, HSBC, S&P Global and SBI Group.

Yuval Rooz (유발 루즈), co-founder and CEO of Digital Asset, said Shinhan Financial Group and Standard Chartered joining the investor list added global reach, market expertise and ecosystem connectivity to Digital Asset and Canton at an important time. He said their participation reaffirmed the need for infrastructure that allows regulated financial institutions to operate on a shared network without undermining privacy, compliance and control.

Digital Asset developed the Canton Network, a public layer-1 blockchain for regulated financial institutions. The Canton Network supports institutions in moving assets, applications and financial workflows on-chain while maintaining the privacy, compliance and control required in regulated markets.
