Olive Young to expand outside Seoul, spending 123.8 billion won on store overhaul
CJ Olive Young will increase investment outside the Seoul metropolitan area this year, spending 123.8 billion won on new openings, renovations and logistics upgrades, industry sources said. The company is focusing less on adding locations and more on boosting competitiveness and operating efficiency at existing stores, citing rising needs for in-store infrastructure upgrades such as electronic labels. It plans to place more than half of its large stores outside the capital region.

Naver to support digital transformation for 10,000 Place merchants, offer tools for external brand stores
Naver said on Wednesday it will roll out support programmes to extend its online digital transformation experience to offline merchants and an AI transformation ecosystem. From June, it will provide on-site consulting for 10,000 Naver Place merchants a year to help them datafy and analyse operations such as visits, orders, reservations and payments. It will also run Place School training, expand support for Smart Store sellers, widen AdVoost coverage and provide tools for external brand stores.

MSIT finalises 2026 overhead cable maintenance plan, to push Clean-Zone pilot
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT finalised its 2026 overhead cable maintenance plan after holding the 38th coordination meeting, it said on Monday. The plan covers 407 maintenance zones in 63 local governments, including all 25 districts of Seoul, and involves work on 130,910 utility poles. Allocation will reflect the share of public complaints, adding more work to areas with frequent complaints. The ministry will also launch a Clean-Zone pilot to prevent re-cluttering after maintenance.
