TSMC\'s production capacity is nearing its limit as the AI boom drives a surge in semiconductor demand, putting Samsung Electronics in focus as an alternative foundry, an online outlet reported. Google, Nvidia, Tesla, AMD and BYD are among companies said to be considering Samsung\'s foundry services. The report said Samsung is one of the few firms able to run sub-5 nm processes and could take volumes TSMC cannot handle.

Nvidia posted record revenue and net profit for its fiscal first quarter ended in April, helped by rising data center computing demand as AI agents spread. Quarterly revenue rose 85 percent from a year earlier to $81.6 billion, above analysts’ expectations, while net profit more than tripled to $58.3 billion.
