OpenAI aims to expand ChatGPT ads, targeting $1 billion a year

OpenAI has outlined plans to build ChatGPT into a major advertising platform combining strengths associated with Google search and Meta ads. CFO Sarah Friar said ChatGPT’s ad business reached a run-rate equivalent to $1 billion in annual revenue seven months after introducing ads. She said ChatGPT can use information from user conversations and stored memories to target ads to individuals. OpenAI is expanding ad formats and building its platform while preparing for a possible IPO.

Fake Claude install guide can drain crypto wallets, experts warn

A warning has emerged that Mac users searching for how to install Claude Code can have their cryptocurrency wallets stolen if they follow a fake guide page. The attack combined Google search ads with Anthropic\'s public shared-link feature to mimic a legitimate installation document. Security firm Huntress said it identified a six-stage macOS malware chain called MacSync that ultimately swaps a victim\'s existing crypto wallet app for a trojanised version to steal recovery phrases.

Anthropic Claude shared chats exposed on Google, crypto wallet seed phrases also revealed

Hundreds of shared conversations from Anthropic\'s generative AI service Claude were indexed by search engines and appeared in Google results, exposing sensitive information such as crypto wallet seed phrases, personal data believed to include U.S. Social Security numbers and legal consultations, a report said. The issue stemmed from the absence of a noindex meta tag. Anthropic added the tag on July 26, and links began disappearing from Google, though some remained on Bing.
