Leica says generative AI will not be in M cameras but fits Xiaomi 17T Pro
Leica said generative AI features should be distinguished from its traditional cameras, while there is room to use them in licensed brands such as Xiaomi’s 17T series. The comments were made at a roundtable held after the launch of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, which highlights Leica-tuned cameras and Google’s text-to-video tool Gemini Omni. Leica also underscored photo authenticity tools, including digital signatures and metadata.

Test-driving Google\'s Gemini 3.5 Flash for travel plans, cleaning and coding
Google’s new AI model Gemini 3.5 Flash is positioned as a practical tool that supports coding, long-form reasoning, multimodal understanding and parallel task handling. The evaluation used five prompts, including building a simulator from a space debris report, designing a travel itinerary, guiding a craft task, creating a 25-minute cleaning plan and running a humorous parallel-reasoning investigation. The test highlighted context retention and switching between task types, while also raising questions about user data access needs.

Volvo EX60 to add Google Gemini linked to external cameras
Google and Volvo will introduce Gemini-based AI features linked to a vehicle’s external cameras in the next-generation electric SUV EX60. The system is designed to recognise the surrounding environment in real time and explain it by voice, including interpreting complex parking signs when drivers ask questions. Google said the feature could later expand to lane markings, road signs and nearby landmarks. The EX60 will use Qualcomm Snapdragon chips and over-the-air updates.
