To expand digital-asset financial products, trading standards and investor protection must come first

A proposal has called for establishing trading standards and investor protection systems to expand financial products and services using digital assets. Speakers at a forum in Seoul discussed development directions and domestic tasks for digital-asset ETFs and on-chain asset management. They said clearer licensing rules, reliable price calculation, custody arrangements and mechanisms for creation and redemption are needed. Participants also raised the kimchi premium and risks in smart-contract vaults.

N2SF shift opens public-sector security SaaS market, Monitorlab to step up push

Monitorlab plans to push its Security Service Edge platform into South Korea\'s public sector, citing growing opportunities as the National Network Security Framework, or N2SF, is introduced. CEO Lee Gwang-ho said government policy now supports public agencies adopting security as a service, though hurdles remain. The company said multiple certifications are still required and costly. Monitorlab is also working with LG Uplus and is seeking growth overseas, while highlighting generative AI security as a new driver.

Toss Payments signs strategic MOU with Visa to boost payment competitiveness at home and abroad

Toss Payments, Toss’s payment gateway affiliate, is moving to cooperate with global payments company Visa to strengthen payment security and advance services. Toss Payments said on Sept. 8 it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Visa on Sept. 7 in Seoul’s Gangnam district. The two companies plan to explore cooperation in domestic and overseas payment markets, based on their technologies, operating capabilities and global networks.
