KT DS said on Monday it obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification.

ISO/IEC 42001 is an international standard for AI management systems jointly established by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission. It assesses an organisation's capability to systematically manage the full process from AI policy planning to development, operation, risk management and continuous improvement.

The certification was awarded following an audit by the Korea Standards Association (KSA). The audit covered KT DS AI platforms AICentro and Beast AI Gateway, along with related development, operation and governance processes. KT DS said it was verified as meeting all requirements under ISO/IEC 42001.

KT DS obtained the Korea Standards Association's AI reliability certification, called AI+, last year. The company said the latest certification verifies an organisation-level AI management system beyond individual solutions.

Ok Kyung-hwa (옥경화), CEO of KT DS, said, "In the AI era, managing AI risks and responsibilities is as important as the ability to use technology well." She added, "With this certification as a starting point, we will further strengthen the KT Group's AI governance system and provide AI services customers can trust."
