Macquarie Asset Management Group, Gabia cooperate to develop next-generation hyperscale data centre platform
Macquarie Asset Management Group’s Macquarie Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Fund 4 has signed a strategic partnership with cloud company Gabia to develop a hyperscale data centre platform in South Korea, it said on Tuesday. The partners plan to jointly invest about 600 billion won over the next 4 to 6 years. Their first project is a 40-megawatt Ansan data centre, to be linked with a Gwacheon site designed for high-performance GPU servers.

Gabia selected as supplier for support project to build HR and labor management systems for micro workplaces
Cloud services firm Gabia said on Monday it has been selected as a supplier for a Ministry of Employment and Labor-led project to support micro workplaces in building HR and labor management systems. The programme targets workplaces with fewer than 30 employees and uses government funding to subsidise the cost of adopting private-sector HR platforms. Gabia will supply its Hiworks groupware service under a 900 million won government budget allocation.

Chinese tech firms are accelerating expansion in the AI market, with Baidu’s Ernie Assistant topping 200 million monthly active users and Kuaishou’s Kling AI reporting 12 million users and more than $20 million in monthly revenue. Alibaba unveiled a major update to its Qwen app. Startups also pressed ahead, including DeepSeek and Moonshot AI. In South Korea, a government-led foundation model project advanced three teams to the next stage and plans an additional selection.
