Cloud services firm Gabia said on Monday it has been selected as a supplier for the Ministry of Employment and Labor-led support project to build HR and labor management systems for micro workplaces.

The project targets micro workplaces with fewer than 30 employees that face difficulties introducing structured HR systems. The government will invest budget funds to support the cost of adopting private-sector HR management platforms. The aim is to strengthen labor management capabilities at small companies and protect workers' rights.

Gabia will supply its Hiworks groupware service through the 900 million won in government support budget allocated to the project. Micro workplaces selected as client companies will be able to use Hiworks services worth 150,000 won a month, based on 25 employees, fully covered by government support funds.

Gabia's Hiworks provides collaboration functions such as email, messenger and electronic approval, along with HR management, on a single platform.

The Hiworks HR management offered through the support project includes GPS-based mobile clock-in and clock-out checks, integration with access control systems such as Secom and Caps, a PC-off function and electronic contracts.

Lee Jung-hwan (이정환), a director at Gabia, said many micro workplaces cite difficulties complying with labor laws and managing labor affairs due to staffing and cost issues. He said the company would actively support small firms so they can adopt the solution without cost burdens and maximise work efficiency through automating labor management using AI chat.
