NHN expands Korea-Japan co-development model with first result in \'Fantasy World\'s Puchipoyong\'

NHN is building a co-development system that combines the game planning capabilities of its Japanese unit NHN PlayArt with the execution of its South Korean development organization, and will apply it more broadly to its global game business. The companies introduced their Korea-Japan collaboration strategy at a group interview near Makuhari Messe. Their first joint project is \'Fantasy World\'s Puchipoyong\', one of three new titles unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

Dreamage opens global region for \'Architect\', integrates 9 Asian areas

Dreamage is expanding the service area of the MMORPG \"Architect: Land of Exile\" to Asia and will group users from nine areas, including South Korea, into a single region. The company said it will officially open the game\'s global region on Sept. 16 and launch 10 new servers. It will also open inter-server content \"Battlefield of the Abyss\" at the same time. Pre-emptive reservations for server and character names ended early.

Reviving 20-year-old games, from remasters to opening up IPs

South Korean online games from the 2000s are returning through remasters and engine upgrades. JoyCity has launched \"Freestyle Reboot,\" while DragonFly is preparing full service for \"Special Force Remaster.\" Nexon is modernising \"Mabinogi\" with \"Mabinogi Eternity\" and is also opening older IPs to outside developers. Companies are keeping core gameplay while redesigning systems for current user environments and lowering barriers for new players.
