Electric vehicle touchscreen pushback as physical buttons return
Cars have become more minimalist and digital in the electric-vehicle era, with climate knobs disappearing, door handles hidden in bodywork and volume dials replaced by haptic sliders. Business Insider reported on Feb. 14 that regulatory pressure and consumer complaints are driving a shift back to physical buttons. Audi, Ferrari and Volkswagen cited more tactile controls, and even Tesla is redesigning flush door handles as safety scrutiny grows in China, the United States and Europe.

Ferrari unveils interior of first battery-electric car Luce
Ferrari on Feb. 9 unveiled the name and interior design of its all-electric sports car, the Ferrari Luce. It called the model a symbolic step in its shift to electrification and described electrification as a philosophy rather than a specific technology. The reveal was held in San Francisco with creative group LoveFrom. The interior combines physical controls and digital displays and uses 100 percent recycled aluminium and Corning Fusion5 glass.

Lee Jae-yong says Samsung family committed to preserving Korean cultural heritage
Samsung marked the first overseas exhibition of donated works from the late Lee Kun-hee with a gala dinner in Washington on Jan. 28 local time. About 250 guests attended, including U.S. officials, politicians, business leaders and cultural figures. Samsung family members welcomed attendees and highlighted the founders’ resolve to preserve Korean cultural heritage. Organisers estimate the exhibition will draw more than 65,000 visitors by closing.
